Workforce Collective is a non-profit, public benefit organization that explores solutions to workforce challenges. We work across sectors to combine research, labour market data, and community insights to help partners better understand workforce needs, test new approaches, and take informed action.

We also act as a hub for collaboration, housing initiatives such as Niagara’s Immigrant Employment Council and the Niagara Workforce Coalition. By bringing people, ideas, and evidence together, we support stronger businesses, resilient communities, and a more inclusive workforce.

As we continue to grow our impact and deepen our work, we’re looking add new perspectives and knowledge. We’re inviting individuals interested in Workforce Collective’s initiatives to join our Board of Directors. Some areas of interest are experience in areas like legal (e.g., immigration policy), government relations, non-profit board governance, or finance but we welcome all applicants.


Responsibilities & Expectations:

  • Oversee the strategy and business of the organization.
  • Attend all Board meetings. We meet once every other month (for approx. 90 minutes), September to May, with our Annual General Meeting in June.
  • Act in alignment with the mission and values of the organization, contractual agreements of the Board, statutory requirements, and in accordance with the By-Laws and Governing procedures.


A Director must:

  • be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada;
  • be 18 years of age or older;
  • sign and comply with the Corporation’s Code of Ethics;
  • sign and comply with the Agreement of Confidentiality;
  • not be an un-discharged bankrupt.


We feel that engaging with diverse perspectives enriches our organization as a whole – in generating better decisions, challenging the status quo, and growing deeper in our understanding of the community in which we work. Therefore, folks who are Black, Indigenous, people of colour, immigrants (newcomers) to Canada, queer, trans, non-binary, disabled, parents, and anyone who has experienced systemic oppression are encouraged to apply.
