Co-creative Community Relations

Home BlogCo-creative Community Relations

NWPB has been a think tank, providing data and insight in support of workforce and economic development, since 1997. We’ve worked with employers, job seekers, educators, training and wraparound service providers in private, public and non-profit sectors. Through the years, we’ve learned a lot about our community and labour market. We’ve observed patterns in the data, garnered insights about our gaps and challenges, and importantly, participated in many conversations with diverse partners and individuals along the way.

Given the cumulative data and learning from the past as well as the unprecedented changes that have occurred during the events of 2020 to now, we are in a distinct position to do things differently. This moment calls us to think-and-do in different ways.

We are proposing to co-create— design, test and iterate— new solutions to better understand and address the gaps, in community. Welcoming a spirit of innovation to this process, we intend to both strengthen and re-align relationships with existing partners as well as identify new-to-us partners. The need to collaborate with differentiated individuals and organizations, who bring complementary and dissimilar gifts into the creative space, is becoming increasingly clear.

The time is now. We are ready and we invite you to explore with us—

How might we design for a workforce centered in wellbeing?
How can we emerge with better labour systems and structures as part of our collective economic recovery?
Who or what ideas, possibility models or learnings will we amplify along the way?

If you’re wondering about these questions too and are ready to bridge thinking-and-doing and shape the future together, contact Rachel Crane, NWPB’s new Community Relations Lead (rachel@nwpb.ca).
