Youth Employment Project

Over the past year COVID-19 has significantly impacted youth employment. This project dives deeper into these impacts and pairs available labour force data with insights from local youth, collaborators in post-secondary education, and our local school boards to support long-term career planning. Information for Parents and Students

For students planning their future careers, NWPB’s Career Library provides an expansive, interactive overview of all occupations and local in-demand occupations. This tool highlights the most current information on local job availability, related occupations, earning potential, and the skills needed to succeed.

The Government of Ontario’s Labour Market Portal features insights and forecasts on more than five hundred occupations.

The Federal Job Bank offers employment listings combined with detailed career paths to guide a person through every step of career planning: from required levels of education and training to the best places in Canada to find work in your field.

NWPB produces a series of tools to support educators looking to integrate labour market data into their secondary school curriculum. If you would like access to this free resource, please email info@niagaraworkforceboard.ca and someone from our team will follow up with you.
